In industries where fluids are the lifeblood of the operation, accurate flow measurement is paramount. For process control, it ensures efficiency and consistency. For fiscal and custody transfer applications, it is the cash register that dictates revenue and financial transactions. Even a small inaccuracy in a flow meter can result in significant financial loss, process inefficiency, and non-compliance with industry standards.
Al Saqr Engineering provides expert, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited flow meter calibration and proving services across the UAE. We specialize in both liquid and gas flow measurement, providing the highest level of accuracy and traceability for your most critical applications.
We Calibrate a Wide Range of Flow Meters:
Turbine Flow Meters
Positive Displacement (PD) Meters
Coriolis Mass Flow Meters
Ultrasonic Flow Meters
Vortex & Magnetic Flow Meters
Flow Computers & Totalizers
In the context of flow meters, the terms are often used interchangeably. 'Proving' is a specific type of on-site calibration where a known volume of fluid is passed through the meter under test and compared against a master prover (like a piston prover or master meter). This determines the meter's accuracy under real-world operating conditions.
For on-site proving, we test the meter using your actual process fluid under normal operating conditions, which provides the most accurate representation of its performance. For laboratory calibrations, we typically use water or another standard calibration fluid and apply appropriate corrections if necessary.
The K-Factor is a specific value for certain types of flow meters (like turbine meters) that represents the number of pulses generated per unit of volume (e.g., pulses per gallon or liter). During calibration, we precisely determine this K-Factor. This value is then programmed into the flow computer to ensure it correctly converts the meter's pulses into an accurate flow rate reading.
